Goal: Career in sports
My life-long dream is to have a career in sports management or marketing. I spent the majority of my youth playing, watching, and reading about sports. I played football and lacrosse all throughout high school, continued playing lacrosse in college, and spent most winters skiing. Along the way, I played in a travel lacrosse league for seven years, coached youth football and lacrosse, and eventually became a team captain for my high school teams. I enjoyed playing lacrosse at Skidmore College for two years, but major knee surgery slowed me down. I took the opportunity to pivot away from competing at the collegiate level and challenge myself in other ways. I traveled abroad and spent a semester in London studying sports and events management, as well as sports marketing, in an international setting. The experience not only enriched me as a student but also as an athlete.
Through years of volunteering with my father’s wheelchair basketball and softball teams, I learned firsthand about the incredible value that sports brings to people’s lives, regardless of their level of skill, whether fans or participants. The sense of camaraderie, excitement, and the numerous health benefits are unparalleled. While in London, I had the privilege of assisting a community basketball club in developing a program that offered wheelchair basketball clinics. The experience was incredibly fulfilling. I am eager to discover new adventures and opportunities that will allow me to fulfill my aspiration of a career in the sports industry.

Communication Skills
I enjoy interacting with new people and delivering presentations to groups. I honed my presentation skills through various business classes over the years, discovering a natural talent for making people feel at ease during presentations and quickly adapting to unexpected challenges. My experience working in restaurants has further enhanced these communication skills. In situations where the kitchen is overwhelmed and frustration levels are soaring, the servers’ charm and problem-solving abilities can be the only things preventing complete chaos.

Quantitative Personality
While I prioritize direct contact with clients and customers to gain a better understanding of their needs, I also recognize the importance of analyzing underlying data and trends before making critical business recommendations. My coursework in statistics at Skidmore has equipped me with a solid foundation in statistical theory, methodology, and data analysis techniques. I have gained extensive experience with both Excel and RStudio. I have applied these skills in research projects that focused on sports analytics, utilizing Bayesian statistical modeling and multivariate data analysis techniques. Additionally, I have used my computing skills to analyze science and economic data for my physiology and business courses. This involved demographic and descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, and creating graphical representations. In today’s data-driven world, I believe that the ability to analyze and interpret data is of utmost importance in most industries.
I applied my data analytics skills during an internship with Wells Fargo, specifically within their Wealth and Investment Management department. In addition to directly interacting with clients, I analyzed their investment portfolios to assess stock and bond performance and evaluate diversification needs. I prepared recommendations for portfolio adjustments and supported presentations to the department concerning the current and future impact of Artificial Intelligence on the wealth and investment management industry.
